So I picked up this ZR250 Balius sight unseen from an auction site last week it's a pretty rough haha the joys of online. It looks to have been low sided and has some damage however it only has 10thou kms on the clock and only cost me $250 clams plus it has a clean title so that a bonus I guess.
Ive got no idea what year or model it is I'll have to look into that over the weekend but it should be a fun little project (if I can get it running lol).
I had a quick look at it this afternoon
And it looks like it's going to need a few parts replaced including,
    Mirrors, indicators, clutch/brake levers,
Handle bars look slightly bent cluster surrounds need replacing and it has the usual scraps that come along with a lowside. My main concern is the gear selector that's all bent as it's not selecting gears seems to be stuck in neutral but I'll look at that on the weekend.

Now I checked all the fluids and tried to kick it over, I'm getting power as the lights and horn ect are all working (the engine temp light is also on hope that's not a bad thing haha), but I'm not getting anything else it wont kickover I charged the battery and tried giving the starter motor a love tap but still nothing. any suggestions before i bust out the multi meter on the weekend.

Good score, try starting it with the side stand switch up and also check if the balius has a clutch perch switch, it might need the clutch pulled in to start

Yeah I tried with the kick stand up and clutch in. I'll check both with a multi meter to see if they are getting power may be the mircoswitch in the kickstand as that's the side the bike has gone down on I'll also check the start button on the handle bars and just start to eliminate things from there. See how I go hope fully it's nothing to bad. Hopefully I can get it to kick over so i can check the compression just to make sure that temp light that's on isn't something more sinister.

That gear lever will bend straight with a piece of pipe or big shifter on the end.
Is there a neutral light showing? May need that for start. Checked fuses?

Yeah I checked the fuses they are all good and I've got a neutral light I'm pretty sure but I'll double check that on Saturday. Looks like it will just be a process of elimination with the multimeter I'll start at the start switch block and work my way down I guess. Has to be something simple. Well that's what I'm hoping. Lol

Well little update I finally managed to find the starting issue after a couple hours checking all the wiring and fused ect. Turns out it was the starter relay but after direct power to the starter to ensure it was working then direct power the re relay to make sure it was clicking it decided to turn over the relay must be corroded internally so I will just get a new one.
By the looks of things someone has tried to get It going fairly recently I've noticed the spark plugs are brand new is the air filter the oil doesnt look to old either. I also noticed the tank was full of crap so I emptied that and cleaned it all out while I was at it.
I managed to get it going after a couple hours work, its sounds fine carbs could do with a bit of a tidy up and a tune other then that its selecting gears and brakes are working so yeah pretty happy with it all. Now I'll just order all the replacement parts and start fixin on it up.
