    Hi all,

    Another one from me haha

So discovered i have an electrical gremlin, headlights don't work at all
After some investigation i have narrowed it down to the headlight relay on the junction box PCB.
Exact spares don't seem feasible for the relay so I'll modify it, no dramas

I'm gonna hazard a guess that the original has cooked because the headlights were H4 (60/55W), whereas the design was for H4R (60/35W)
So low beam was designed for 3A but has been chugging 4.5A

Anybody else come across this issue and whats peoples fixes?

H4R doesn't seem to find much on google...

Same globes as a cbr250rr, Honda dealers will have them. The relays in the box are unobtanium, you can buy a new junction box they're used across many Kawasaki's

Ah thanks for that, didn't think to look for CBR forum posts etc
I notice they mention about battery issues with the H4 instead of the H4R.
I like the idea of additional relays to protect the switchgear but see how the battery goes

    Beauty thanks for that!

Yeah i converted my FZR to H4 led, but it was already a H4
As far as i am aware the headlight cutoff line is built into the lense, a standard H4 Halogen bulb doesn't run any shield's

This is the style led i am running, it only draw's 1.7A on low beam with the engine running, compared to 4.6A using the Narva Plus120 Halogen bulb on low
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Premium-H4-8000LM-CSP-LED-Headlight-Kit-Light-Bulbs-High-Low-Beam-DRL-White/183213514093?_trkparms=aid=111001&algo=REC.SEED&ao=1&asc=20180105095853&meid=386924aba0754b3497dfec3c76d6ac4d&pid=100903&rk=1&rkt=20&mehot=ag&sd=183213514093&itm=183213514093&pmt=0&noa=1&pg=2510209&brand=Unbranded&_trksid=p2510209.c100903.m5276

Have a look at post #225 and onward's here-
The led sit's into a plastic holder (push in and turn to lock) with the H4 pattern you may be able to modify it to suit the H4R ?
This led is still in my bike and is just as bright as the day i fitted it 3 year's ago.
Never had anyone flash me, and never been pulled up for it.

Late model FZR's should come with the dual projector headlights, likely with 35w/60w globes as well.

Almost all of them have had the headlight unit swapped out during ADR compliance, taking a standard H4 globe in a reflector housing. The headlight is the same / similar to a TRX850.g

The CBR250RR's and ZXR's likely had no alternative available, so they were passed for compliance anyway. It greatly varies depending on who complianced the bike and when. Same deal with headlight on/off switches, some have them blanked off and have the headlight always on, some still have the switch.

By far the dumbest thing they've done , so many times the bike hasn't started because it loads down the battery so much.

Hey mate, do you know of a part number for Kawasaki for new jbox?

I quoted the number on mine 26021-1080 and local kawasaki said part discontinued, alternative they offered is 26021-0073 which looks different but i couldn't comment on the inside of it
    $210 too

Anybody else had an issue where the headlights turn off when revving the bike?
    Cheers!
