Hi guys, The bike in question: a '91 zxr250c I'm hoping that some members may be able to shed some light on the strength of both the crank and the starter gears and ratchet(?) In terms of shearing torque? Or does anyone have some pointers on 'easy' non destructive tests? Cheers, Bryn
Sorry, I have very little to give. I suppose I'm asking for a way to stress test the crank longetudinally, and the tooth shear of the mentioned gears. In hindsight, I doubt its been tested, unless someone has access to Kawasaki's design notes and specs xD
That would be great: just takes a little more skill than I have, and Im wary of taking any direct relationship between a model and the real life metallurgy without very accurate dimensioning and measurement...
Fixing crank and applying torque to the starter gear with a torque wrench? I know a ballpark of my minimum..??
