    Hi All,

    Silly question...
My bike - with the key in the first position the warning lights & ignition are active & the starter cranks.
When I switch it to position 2 the headlamp comes on but all the warning lights (oil press., Neutral) are off & the starter doesn't work.

    Is this normal?

Seems like the switch if buggered....

    Thanks :)

I have never played with a ZXR, but sound's to me like 2x wire's may be swapped around from the ignition switch ?

    It should go

Steering Lock > Off > On > Steering Lock

Since you can lock the bars on either side

Are you sure that it is the headlight that is coming on in the third position?
A lot of overseas bikes have a 'park light' position where your bike can be seen when left with ignition off.

Not certain about the A model, but the C model headlight doesn't come on until the engine is running and the battery is being sufficiently charged. Or if you bump the starter and it fires but doesn't start.

My A model does exactly the same thing. Not really sure what the furthest position to the right does exactly besides leave the park lights on.

There is no steering locks on either of my 250A's.
