    From what I've read in other posts, there are a few good options for front and rear. I'd like to get new tyres for both.

    But I'd like to go as wide as possible for my rear, it's a stock wheel, what's the biggest I can go?

    Thanks

    Hi Ryan
    If the info i've found on your bike is correct , the rear tyre is wide enough already @ 140 width. Going oversize can actually cause the bike to have handling issue's and also more input is needed to flick the bike into the corner's with wider tyre's fitted. Another negative is wider tyres burn HP especially when your engine is 39HP , it's only a 250cc engine.
    My old V4 750 P.O.S youse to use 140 stock width rear tyres and that had 90HP.
    Been there myself a long time ago fitting a slightly wider tyre ( the correct width wasn't available at the time needed ) and the difference of input was very noticeable. A lot more input was needed.
    Just have a read up before you go ahead , your bike though !. I'm no expert , i'm just gong off what i've experienced.

    stock 140 is widest you'd want to use.

    Thanks @GreyImport I think it looks cooler, but after some research and popular opinion. Preformance is a better option. So I'll downsize from my 150/70 to a 140/60 rear. I had the Dunlop Hypersport 14's in mind. And my local retailer has 1 left. It's $300 nzd, does that sound about right?

    @2valve Thanks for the advice mate, I didn't realise that, but it makes sense. i've had the bike for 2 seasons, and I still have heaps to catch up on :dance2: This is what I am putting on the rear of the bike. https://www.brm.co.nz/dunlop-sportmax-alpha-14-hypersport-tyres-product-review/

    @DannoXYZ Cheers

    Hi Ryan
    No problem , happy to help when i can.

    I'm far from being a tyre expert , but i usually stay with the correct width / height if there still available. The 150/70 tyre that is already fitted on the bike is to tall anyway , well via the spec's on the web as below. I'f your short in the leg department , you'll appreciate the lower profile of the 140/60.

    Some factory sized tyre's are N.L.A , my bike is one of them. I had to go up one size in width "only" on both tyres , but i made sure the height of the tyre was correct as this can also cause speedo accuracy. Well , most speedo's aren't correct anyway , well they weren't back in the day's. I'f you have a GPS unit , you can check accuracy of the speedo. When i fit new tyres , i'll be checking my speedo to see what it read's.

    Make Model Kawasaki ZX-R 250 Ninja
    Front Tyre 110/70-R17 54H
    Rear Tyre 140/60-R18 64H
