Yeah that's the plan. I'm gonna have fun stripping the paint off, some off it has flaked off but the rest appears to have adhered well. Also found some headers at a wrecker in Toowoomba. Hopefully I'll get them cheap enough on Monday!

    So I've been busy,
I rebuilt the front brake caliper, did the fork seals and re-painted the fork legs, a few other odd jobs like cleaning the clutch lever etc etc
I then decided to wash out the fuel tank...only to discover a few (about 9 ) pinholes on the bottom of the tank.
Anybody have any ideas on how to fix them?

I've decided to strip the tank completely etc and fix the holes somehow, the tank is beautiful, no dents, but has some pitting and scaring on one side. I actually kinda like the bare metal look.

Anyway, HELP ME FIX THE PINHOLES ha ha

Also picked up a scrappy set of header pipes, mainly for the flanges :)
I made a little tray that will sit under the removable seat for my wallet and phone etc too :)
It won;t always be held together with masking tape btw. :)

My new grips and handlebars turned up. I decided to go with Clubman bars, keep it old school lol and they were cheaper than clip-ons. They seem pretty comfortable, still not sure what to do about my rear-sets :-( any help would be appreciated.

sounds like good progress but your photos arent working(checked your photobucket profile and i cant see anything from the gsx250 file :/ ) , try using imgur.com, its usually pretty reliable.

Im in the middle of making some rearsets atm, using the rearmost frame bolts (not sure if yours is the same , mines an'83 with the alloy passenger peg brackets )

You can solder the pin holes, Risky will tell you how.
I like the clubman bars too.

Hmmm soldering? Some of my holes have turned out to be a little bit bigger than pinholes :-(
Meanwhile the vinegar in the tank is awesome for getting the rust out.

So I fixed the tank, used an epoxy resin to fill the pinholes and then ran a KBS tank sealing kit through it :)
Also I used some BMX stunt pegs to make new foot pegs :)
Lots has been happening, new indicators mmmmm and finished my clinch pin seat retainers etc

Looking good. Where did you get the seat from? It's the sort of thing I'm looking for

No, I do not believe so. I make a few for the older paper gasket Suzuki Katanas but that eBay seller has good prices on kits for the older models. No need for me to worry about those.

Ha ha yeah, the carbs are off at the moment.
Waiting on some jets/gaskets etc 'overnight' from Japan ;-)
Still need to source an exhaust that isn't rusted out to buggery or going to cost me a million dollars :-(
