A while back I purchased a Cibby 250RR off Yong, she was in sorry state but was a runner, Yong and I did a major service on it last year and she has sat. I bought it off him as I wanted to turn it into a track bike. Well I finally made a start on my Cibby t , I bought a heap of parts recently and over the next few weeks I will get them fitted. So far I have purchased : 1. Goodridge Braided brake lines - ebay 2. Petrol tank cap - ebay 3. Quick action throttle - Simon from teamtiger.com.au 4. Raceglass from Simon at teamtiger.com.au 5. New main jets and needle and seat - http://www.motorcyclespareswarehouse.com.au/ 6. New H bar - Simon at teamtiger.com.au 7. Fairing Bolt set from xcitebikes.com.au 8. New Clutch cable - http://www.motorcyclespareswarehouse.com.au/ 9. New throttle cable - http://www.motorcyclespareswarehouse.com.au/ 10. New engine inspection covers - http://www.motorcyclespareswarehouse.com.au/ 11. Full gasket set - Ebay 12. Adjustable levers - xcitebikes.com.au 13. Fork adjusters - ebay 14. Full Viton seal kit for my carbys - litetek.co 15. New carby rubbers - ebay 16 Goldfren Sintered HH pads (front and rear) - ebay 17 New battery - Local batteries at Capalaba 18 New grips - found some in the garage that I bought a while back off ebay. The intent of my project is show how cheap it is to get a Cibby track ready for some weekend fun. So far, the carbys have been stripped, cleaned, new viton seals fitted ( Thanks Blair from litetek.co) , new jets installed, new needle and seats fitted, new cable installed, new manifold rubbers fitted. She is back to a running state, I have removed the rear factory fairings, pillion pegs, indicators etc , the rear race glass has been test fitted and Im happy with the fit. The next steps are to get the fairings on and trimmed up, As my tank is orange and silver, I thought I would paint the fairings silver with a black strip on the belly pan. Time permitting I can get the paint done next weekend. Next on the wish list Tyres Chain and sprockets valve clearances done Carbs balanced thats it from me, more updates and pics soon. Kiffsta
The gold fren pads work well for the cost. We have tried the EBC pads and believe they are marginally better. Cheers Simon
Thanks Simon, should be fun once its completed... I have seen some stainless headers on ebay from China, have you seen\tried them ?
I believe they are ok, but if your stock ones are in decent condition (no large dents) then I would stick with them.
Mate if you need someone to help swing of the end of a spanner I know my way around these bikes fairly well... did you end up getting a set of vernier calipers onto those headers from the MC19 and see if they are any bigger? i know they join from 4 to 1 the pipe is...
Always keen Tim, but wont be for a few weeks as I had some surgery today to remove a bump off my head, so no riding for 2 weeks.. . During the week I had a crack at making a windscreen, seems pretty good, but need some bolts to secure it properly. Been at it a little today ( much to the disgust of my wife), the quick action throttle is on and working, new throttle cable as well. I went to fit my race gas cap, but it doesn't fit the Honda.. a bit peeved. I have since sourced another and its enroute from Hong Kong. Going to try and get my fairings on tonight which means I can get them lined up, then get them prepped for paint .
courier arrived today, I now have some windshield bolts, heel guards and a new exhaust , had to run out to the garage and fit them up I am sourcing quite a few parts for my MC22 from xcitebikes.com.au, Omar is the man when it comes to Cibby parts .
Tyres are on order, I went with the Sava MC50 soft compound from Whites Racing products, cost me $300 delivered.
