well, the time has come to replace my trusty 1200amp repco jump pack, its 4 years old and is barely holding a charge , I can replace the battery but the clamps are pretty shagged too so maybe its time to retire it. I have seen a lot of smaller units are now on the market with lithium batteries and am interested in your recommendations, mine is used a lot in the workshop, so I need something decent.
I know Matson make some pretty heavy duty stuff... http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/Product/Matson-12V-Jump-Starter-1700Amp-500CCA-MA1700/SPO3731264 Projecta is not too bad either (from Narva)... http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/Pr...A-Jump-Starter-Power-Supply-HP1200/SPO3956577
Not Lithium but SLA (sealed lead acid) Supercheap are having a clearance sale on their Matson Jump pack's atm, some have a decent saving's http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/st...3?page=2&pageSize=24&sort=ProductVisiblePrice 1700A (500CCA) for $311, save $184 off normal retail 1900A for $439, save $210 3400A for $631, save $359 3800A for $679, save $539.80 8000A (2000cca) for $1199.20, save $550 And Repco have a couple of SLA Jump pack's in their August catalogue too I don't know if Repco have a clearance centre in Qld but in Adelaide we have do, they have a lot of special's that are 30-70 % off as well There are some cheap Lithium jump pack's on Aliexpress but some capacity's are way over rated imo, pretty sure it's calculated at 1v So if you convert it to Ah it's only about 50Ah with isn't that good Then with most of them you only get 1000 cycle's (charge's) before the capacity drop's too, 600A (3S) Jump pack $77 800A peak, 18000Mah $102 A decent SLA battery will last year's, i have some decent German made Sonnerschien 5.7Ah SLA battery's that were bought new in 1993 that i've maintained over the year's and they still hold 14.4v, and they are now 24 year's old Another option, It wouldn't cost a lot to upgrade your current jump pack with a new battery or battery's if you can fit a second one in to double the capacity, and a pair of heavy duty jump lead's and clamp's either Get some 50mm2 cable and add some heavy duty clamp's
