You can buy a couple of rotors overseas without import duty as they will be less than $1000.
I have heard bad stories about Chinese disks and so I wouldn't get them.
Metalgear have German TUV approval and so should be ok but I haven't checked them out myself.
I got 320mm Brembo ORO disks for one of my bikes from Carpimoto but they don't list FZR250 disks.
Still working out where to buy the caliper adapters to run the larger diameter disks with the FZR250 forks.

Its buyer beware with the Chinese discs, I have a pair on a ZXR here and they flex when the brake is applied. I wont be using them on the road. I have bought quite a few metal gear discs over the years and they have been excellent.

Because its such an important part of your bike, I would scrimp on quality, that's my 2c

Don't forget to replace your pads at the same time you replace your disks otherwise worn pads will just eat up the new disc. And don't forget to use thread lock on the bolts holding the disk on. :thumb_ups:

I havnt replaced mine but I would agree with the posts above .... :thumb_ups:

As mentioned above use threadlock and also the correct torque on the bolts.

Get yourself a set of these ..... they are great on all the allen bolts ,especially when a torque wrench is required.

These are just supercheap cheapos :prankster:

You can't go wrong with metal gear products. Yes they are up there price wise, stopping power is vital, what price do you put on life, it's a no brainer!! Trust me, new discs and pads and you won't know yourself.

I had braided lines made for my Triumph many moons ago , from memory I sent them the old ones and they custom made them.....cant remember who it was made them but they were Goodridge.
EDIT: Looked up my old receipts and they were done by Wizard Motorcycles in Brisbane...but going by their website they only do mobile repairs now.

    Australian agent ....

FZR 250 and FZR 400 appear to have the same hoses and banjos ..... I think u will struggle to find a kit for the 250 but the 400 (and 600,750,1000) are more common in the USA and UK.

There are issues with using braided lines on bikes ridden on the road, if they are not ADR (Australian Design Rules) approved then the bike is deemed un roadworthy. There is a company here in OZ called Hel Brakelines, they have the market cornered as their brake lines are ADR approved. Might pay to drop them a line as they dont have an FZR250 listed, although they do have the FZR400 there

Pirtek also do the stainless brake lines and have ADR approval. My son works in local branch and made them for my bikes.

I always buy Venhill Powerhose Plus direct from Venhill in the UK.
They take about a week to arrive.
The best quality - TUV and DOT approved.
