Been a while since I started this project (11 months) but I think it has come together nicely. It really looks the part of an early 1900's bike. Haven't had a chance to take it out on a quiet road and give it a run, but made the front gate before I stalled it. Ha ha. The wicker basket arrived last week after a cock-up with the sender so I fitted it today and can announce that it is 'finished'.
Congrats Murdo. A beautiful bike and an amazing little book. All this in 11 months...I'd still be scratching my head after 11 years! Speaking of people scratching their heads...It would make an interesting display at the Tamworth Motorbike Museum.
Took to the local motorshow over the weekend. Had many 'experts' telling me about it (rofl), the best was an older bloke who said he had a picture of an MEC in a book (ha, ha, ha) and was going home to get the book to bring back to show me. Never saw him again of course. Most bike people knew what it was, 99% of the rest just said 'what a nice bike' so I'm happy with it.
