At $390 for a running 2002 vtr250, which only needs a seat cover and little else for rwc, I couldn't say no. Sure, it's over a thousand k's away, but at a little over $350 for delivery, I figure I still have room to fix it and flip it. A quick tally up: with delivery, service, RWC, rego, seat cover it comes to about $1250. It'll need a bit of tidying up, like the paint peeling off the motor. I'll have to sell it in Brisbane, no one pays for road bikes up here, so there's that, too. Unless someone in Brisbane wants a VTR for $850 delivered?....
About 49,000km, a dent in the tank, a crack in the fairings or 2, paint peeling of the motor. I think he said tyres, chain and sprockets, and fork seals were good, lights all worked. He did say the oil was due to be replaced, too I was considering talking a deal with @kiffsta where I might send it to his shop, offer it for sale as is with bit extra on the price tag for those guys, or go down one weekend and fix it up ready to register and then sell.... Too many decisions, especially since I'm falling asleep.
thanks shane was considering buying it if possible with a bit thrown your way seeing its so close but alas as always that's when a big bill crops up (letter y/day , councils putting the rates way up) so good luck with it if you get it ..jeff
At this point, I could save money by selling it to you for even less than I paid. So if you are interested, make an offer.
Bike arrived last night, shopping list is growing already, so backburner while I finish uni assignment...
damm , was going to get in touch with you , the new owners of our local servo are doing periodical/ occational truck (tilt truck) runs down south , mainly transporting show cars and quite often after extra items or back freight ,often to bris but last one to melb, reckons he can do a lot cheaper than the bike transporters , only thing is being on outer Atherton tablelands cairns could be out of the way (ie inisfail on down ) only thing is you would have to wait till he had a job on
yep checked them out , intresting , anyway on checking on the freighter ,no use on cheap rates if it turns up stuffed
Hi! I have bought a VTR250 MC33 1999 to my wife and I have started to upgrade it. Now I have a new meter unit for it (with rpm tacho and coolant gauge) and I would like to insert it. Anybody can help me with a wiring diagram for VTR250 2003-2007? Thanks forward!
I would have thought the spada would be the easy option, same motor and such. @kiffsta has probably loaded one into the resources page, a whole manual, that is. There mightn't be a tachometer wire or coolant temp sender, just a temperature switch. Depending upon the cluster, it might be tricky. If it is something like the Trailer Vapor, it can be a little simpler. Also, bike is up and running, registered and for sale.
