Hi all, i am new to the group, thank you admin. I have a 1980 Honda CB 250 RS which i have been renovating, the frame has been powder coated and nearly everything is done, but it seems i have been stopped in my tracks by a £ 1.50 washer. I can't seem to find one anywhere, it's a discontinued part. Please see the attached diagram, it's number 22. The part number is 90402-473-000/ 90403-473-000, 2 numbers same part apparently. It's listed as a 9.2mm washer and that's all i could find out. Advice very much appreciated, the complete dimensions of this washer i do not know or what it is made of, the previous owner must have lost this washer and that caused some damage, which is now fixed. So to get it back on the road i just need this part or more details about it. Thank you all and best wishes. Steve.
I think your best solution will be to find a used one so that you can solve this issue. You will have to be lucky to locate another owner who has a starter motor at hand. Nice looking bike. Did you fit alloy rims to it?
Thanks, the wheels are original but i had to fit new spokes, i spent hours sanding and polishing the rims before fitting the spokes. The engine and hubs were black, and i did the same to them as the rims.
Welcome. Nice bike. As this is the same washer that is used in FT500 I looked and found this for you. https://advrider.com/f/threads/honda-ft-500-ascot-group.1420469/page-6 Towards the bottom of the page.
Wow ! Good find Murdo, can you find me the unobtainable, unobtainium, set of steel timing gears I destroyed in the guzzi race bike.. welcome to the forum Jonesey.
Did some countries get a 1980 CB250RS with a starter motor? Trying to find the answer in various sources has only confused me. Some describe the starter motor version as the CB250RS-Z and say it became available in 1982. Some others say it was available in 1980.
Maybe look up the bloke making the Eldee Velo No2 and see if he could make you some. https://velocetteracing.wordpress.com/the-racing-velocettes/eldee-special/
Thanks, and thank you for taking the time to do the research. I have joined that group but I haven't posted anything yet. Fingers crossed.
Yes this 1 has been a strange, and it was confusing at the start, it's a bit of a unicorn. I haven't completely researched it yet but I will once I get it back on the road. When I look for parts I say it's a cb250 rsz. I have non biker friends and they ask how much I will sell it for !!!. They don't understand our mentality, especially when you tell them you keep your bike in the house , and would never sell it.
