    After 30 plus years I have a " hiroshima screamer" in the garage. Pics coming soon.

    Full after market fairing in transit.
    LifeTek kit. In Transit. No seals between carb and airbox.
    Carb strip and clean. In progress
    Brake and clutch overhaul. In progress.

    Question to be asked.
    Bike has Yoshi system will this affect carb set up? Free breathing exhaust.

    Welcome to the forum David.

    We love picture's here , so looking forward to seeing the bike.
    Not up to speed with the 4 banger's , but we have many other's that do know heap's , they'll be along shortly after there coco pop's for breaky.

    There is a workshop manual in the resources section , but you have to be a premium member to access that stuff.

    Welcome David. I'm guessing you have a Yoshimura muffler on your bike. In my experience, these don't make any real difference to the tune. They sound better and weigh less than the standard muffler, but you shouldn't notice any difference across the rev range. @Linkin can guide you better as he had a ZXR250C at one stage.

    Looking forward to receiving your parts.

    Speaking of which. Upon dismantling to remove cards. First no part number 14073 1383 duct was installed and secondly no o rings between box and carb.

    Second problem sorted.

    Is the first going to cause an issue?
    Out of production.
    Hopefully a member has one for sale.

    What other joys to be found?

    That rubber piece helps direct cold air into the airbox from the LHS fairing. it isn't meant to pressurise the airbox, but the cold air helps combustion and the faster you go the more cold air is pushed into the airbox. The exhaust is on the other side, so you shouldn't get any hot air entering the airbox if the rubber piece is missing. They are a rare item, so best of luck chasing one down.

    Absolutely. The Keihin carbs on the ZXR are pretty easy to tune. Make sure all the orifices are clear, get your air/fuel mixture right and then balance them and you should be sweet.
