Anyone found this issue and any solutions, I have adjusted the brake as low as it will go and still find its very uncomfortable as i have to keep my ankle flexed upwards to keep it close to the brake without depressing it.
Adjusted the linkage as short as I can, still ankle needs to flex a long way to keep it on the peg and only just touching the pedal. may need to cut the footpeg mount off and make a new mount to bolt onto the triangle, hoping someone may have done this.
Might sound silly but your footpeg rubbers are looking very worn. New replacements will make a great difference in the height your ankle sits at, and will reduce pressure on it. Another more involved solution is what lots of modern sportbikes have, an adjustable eccentric end of the lever.
I just went and measured mine and it is at the same height, and is fine for my ankle. Suggest heating and bending the arm to get it lower to suit you.
Thanks Murdo, found another possibility suits VFR800 but may fit up to CBR250r even if I need to mod it a little better than having to start from scratch.
Sorry wasnt being rude just trying to work out if my legs are too long! The picture of the VFR800 one allows the height and position to be move around. Will need a return spring and maybe a little milling for the slot.
I did not think you were, I am not tall, I am old and I am sometimes grumpy these are facts. I love these smaller bikes for that reason. For the record I am 5'10" most of my friends are taller than me. These bikes seem to fit me perfectly. How tall are you?
Not much taller but I have long legs! Maybe the knee replacement is part of the cause, anyone younger than us and didnt have one of these bikes when they were released can ignore the rambelings of a few old farts!
