OK I'm sure I will sort this electrical issue out, when I have some time and a wiring diagram in front of me but any help from previous experience would be appreciated. Engine starts and runs fine, put the bike into gear and slowly release the clutch and it just cuts out. If I start the engine then unplug the clutch switch the bike rides fine and does not cut out but I cannot start the bike with the clutch switch disconnected. So I plug in the switch to start the bike and then unplug to ride the bike. I notice that its a changeover switch and maybe one of the contacts is stuffed. FYI I am a sparky and should be able to sort with a meter and some time.
Did not have time today, I'll have a good look at it on Thursday when i'm back at the factory (where the bike is). I was going to stick my meter on the switch first to see if the contacts are working as they should. The Yamaha's and Hondas I have worked on only had a single pole non changeover switch on the clutches.
From my reading of multiple articles I believe it maybe the kickstand switch not making when up. I'll start from there.
That's why this forum is so good, the amount of assistance on how to do things and what to look for on here is amazing.
