Hey everyone now that it's getting warmer really keen to get my bike back on the road, does anyone have or know where I could get an idle adjuster spring for a zxr250 and possibly a new petrol tank as mine is a bit rusty unless anyone has some good tips for cleaning out rust,

    Thanks everyone

How badly rusted? Does it just need cleaning or repairs?

Can we get a pic of how bad inside your tank is? I may have a c model tank you can purchase but if your tank isn't springing leaks you should be able to clean it out with a soak overnight in vinegar then a flush with the gurney. Then you dont have to worry about paint or anything like that.

^ +1 for the vinegar trick - white vinegar is cheap as chips and works absolute wonders on rusty tanks

http://www.millwaysparesonline.com.au/partFinder/fiche/127422 seems to be 92081-1620, should be able to orginise a few other odds and ends thru these guys if needed as well
once you flush and dry it out, of you keep non e10 fuel in there you should be pretty allright e10 absorbs more water

A lot of that looks more like gum buildup than rust ...could be just the pic though

What would be a good way to give it a good clean out if its mostly not rust?

You can see the vinegar still bubbling away, refill it again and let it sit :) another night and you should be golden

Yep re soaking it now so once I flush it, do I just dry it then fill it up straight away with petrol and should be all good?
