Need to get a new master cylinder for my GSX. There doesn't seem to be that many options on ebay that have the brake light switch that is needed. Any one got any suggestions where else to look or should I just ring around the wreckers. Not fussy as to what bike it's meant for or come off of just need one that doesn't leak.

From memory the GSX250 ran a single disc up front, therefore you could get one off an Across which should work OK.

Yeh I have a GSF250 master cylinder... different bike but still a master cyl. Comes with the whole line and even the front caliper if you want it.

Don't know what brake light switch do you mean?

Under the brake lever(front) is a switch that when the brakes are applied....illuminates the brake light.

Sounds like it would work Stu. I'm sure that it would have have the switch seeing as it's from a road legal bike. What size bars does it fit? Mine are 7/8 (22mm) How much?
ps. Don't need lines or callipers

Yeh looks like it has the switch. I ideally want to sell it a set to be honest... I don't know if I'd move the caliper and the line on very easily without the master cylinder... I haven't drained it it's still full of fluid as I took it straight off the bike.

Pretty sure it's 22mm I haven't checked but I'll let you know if it's different to that.

Inbox me to discuss cost, I rather negotiate that privately.

All good mate. Hold onto it if you want. I have ordered the one off ebay that was posted above just not sure of the quality at that price. I will wait for this one to arrive and then decide if I need to hit up the local wreckers

Ok whatever suits mate, you haven't even got my price yet. I'm not precious about holding onto it as much as I am trying to move the whole thing on at once.

Guarantee what I'm asking will still beat a wreckers even if it's the whole thing and it obviously isn't chinese junk... let me know if you change your mind.

Have used the one I posted above with no problems or leaks (even for Chinese 'junk').

I'd hope you don't have a problem.. can only imagine what would happen if you did, being front brakes and all :)

Well funnily enough, I'll eat my hat. Sold the caliper so if you want the master cylinder I'll still have it lol

Didn't quite expect that to happen, but got an offer couldn't refuse :D

Thanks for the offer but have one on the way. Will see what it's like. If I'm not happy with it when it gets here ill hit you up to see if it's still around. Once again thanks for thinking of me.

For what it's worth, I've acquired a ZZ-r250 (EX250) caliper c/w master cylinder. I can confirm that this has a 2 wire brake light switch and is 22mm.

Thanks for the offer but the I ended up getting the one suggested by Murdo. Fitted it the other day and seem to be all good.

Big thanks to all for all of the useful info and offers given out on this site. Makes a nice change to some others that consist of keyboard warriors who are just there to big note themselves.
