Thought I'd drop by and give an update on my VJF. Just had a service at Urban Moto at 21,500ks or so. $338. Ouch. That did include a valve adjustment and all that jazz. It's running very nicely indeed as a result. I'm very happy with this bike. The only thing that needed replacing under warranty was the horn, which sounded very sick indeed. There was an issue with a sticky throttle body but that was resolved with some carby cleaner. My commute each day involves normal and highway riding and the bike really does take it in it's stride, being stretched out pretty much everyday. I tend to hold on to my vehicles for a while before upgrading so I may go the S.D exhaust upgrade to keep me interested before the Street Triple or Z750 comes alongĀ . So the gist of my post is that for 5K including a year of rego, the bike has, and continues to, serve me very well. It's also really cheap to fuel. Cheers.
I just bought this as my first bike as well and am really loving it. One thing, has anyone noticed a jolting feeling in the steering (the only way I can describe it) which is sometimes due to the road but sometimes isn't. My friend told me it is probably because it is a one cylinder and that cylinder is working so hard on it's own to power the engine, it's causing some vibrations.s
