Hi im new here. Struggling to find the paint colour for my 1976 Sx. Its a pinky candy red colour and the side panel fell off the 1st time i rode it, so any ideas of the colour pls
I assume it will be a Harley Davidson paint code Is it the original paint on the bike? ..... Id think even if u get the right paint , the paint on the bike will have faded/changed since 1976. Do u need to just touch up the the side panel or repaint it ? You can take the panel or a chip of paint to an auto paint shop and they can scan it and match it that way, and can make a suitable amount for you. Can u put a location in your profile in case someone has a place to recommend Any photos of your bike? thanx mate cheers
welcome, must be the only pom left in emngland and not transported to australia.lol.saw a drunk irishman racing an aeromachi[harley] inthe early 70,s at bathurst.drunk as a skunk at 4am and racing at 10am and his friends had to put his leathers on.how do i know.... the sod reckoned i was in his bed at the campsite and he did not know which tent was his.

Hi Mr. P, The Aermacchi Harley Yahoo Group has a lot of very knowledgeable people who have a lot of info about these bikes. If you ask your question there, they will probably have the code / paint name (probably something like Sunburst Red, as it is a metallic). As nobody will know what that means anyway, your best bet is to find a good pic and get a painter to match it (that's what I did for my Sunburst Bronze bike). The tank decals you need will be the red decal set, which is Part Number 61498-76. Getting your painter to replicate these is worth it, as the red set is not reproduced AFAIK and any NOS items are 30 + years old. I recommend a Parts Manual and Shop Manual if you don't have one. I can also look up any Part Numbers you need. Welcome to the frustrating world of the Aermacchi Harleys. Good luck. Ian B.
