Its listed on the Australian YSS site So is the ZR250 Balius https://yssaustralia.com.au/road-mo...onoshockweight-75_95kg/455-monoshockcolor-red
The Balius shock will probably fit the ZXR as well. Be nice if they published the stroke. Here is the YSS Spring Code guide. So the Balius is fitted with an 85Nm spring and the ZXR with 80Nm.
Got up early today removed the shock and disassembled it. All the measurement are the same, length, mounting points, etc. The free length of the spring is 172mm. Top dia 70mm, Bottom dia 75mm. Pushed the shock right down and let it come up to the top of the stroke, 55mm travel. The shaft is badly corroded and when the piston returns up there is aeration sound in the shock. Waiting for the YSS agent to reply to my email regarding prices etc. Enjoy your day everyone.
So looks like I have some wrong numbers in the shock table or this is a different shock. https://litetek.co/Info_RearShock_GreyBikes.html What model is yours?
well I finally found a shock, just had to skim some metal off the top sleeve mount and some thin spacers on the bottom clevis mount. Found the original shock spring too soft, have gone for a 115Nm spring. Have fitted it and there is no way I can bottom out this one like the original. Have heaps of preload to play with, unlike only 7 steps with the old. I can have a lot more OR less static sag. Price was $350 delivered to my door. Ordered some Dunlop Alpha 14s. Doing the shims now. Where's the BEST place to get shims. Thanks. Happy riding everyone.
Be careful with the shims. There seems to be some inconsistency in whether ZXR's use 7.48mm or 7.98mm shims. The shim has to fit snug in the retainer and have no horizontal movement. Confirm what you have before ordering. As for suppliers, in AU we have http://www.precisionshims.com.au/ and they are pretty comprehensive in what you can order online. Nice work getting the Alpha 14's
Did you buy from an NZ distributor or overseas? How did you decide what spring rate to go for? Pretty keen to sort out the saggy rear end on my bike. Cheers
