Whilst I await confirmation of my account upgrade so that I can access the manual for the GN250,
Would there be anyone online that can tell me how to replace the fork oil?

Under the caps at the top of the fork legs, is a “flat” metal piece with a slight depression in it - nothing like I’m used to seeing like a nut or cap that can be unscrewed.
    :idk:

    Awesome :drinks:
I saw the little message about “once payment is verified” & thought I might have had to wait a day or so.
Reading the manual hasn’t made it any clearer :(
It says remove cap and stopper ring, but this is what the top of my fork leg looks like under the plastic cap:

Ive never done one like it but looks like the 'stopper ring ' is next to remove ... is it like a circlip?

then I would think by pressing down on the fork the spring will push out the 'seat spacer'

I would have the fork out or the weight off the front end before removing the stopper ring

Front wheel is off the ground & there’s no fork oil in the forks...
And whilst it kinda looks like a ring/circlip, it’s actually just the shadow of that metal bit due to the edge chamfered downward ever so slightly.
I’ve never seen anything like it before :idk:

The only thing that would stop them popping out is of course the ring ... or corrosion .... and the only thing stopping them going down the tube is of course the spring tension ..... so tomorrow u could maybe give them a gentle tap around the edge or with a socket or something that fits in there , slightly smaller , to break the 'seal'

Do they both look like your photo?

Inside circlip basically, push down& hold in the centre with a socket extension or piece of wood and maniuplate the circlip with a pick, screwdriver etc to pop it out of its groove, release tension on the cap and the spring should push the whole lot up and out.

Yup, both look like corroded shotgun shell-ends lol :prankster:
I shall give the socket & tap method a go tomorrow morning & see what happens :thumb_ups: (thanks @Linkin)

That will be that little 'ting' noise that you hear. Then you waste an eternity of your precious life looking for the horrible little thing.

Jut like the clip which holds on the window winding handle in a car, known as the JAYZUS clip

I drained the oil before I took the tops out (& had the front wheel off the ground) so there wasn’t much pressure behind the clip ;)

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with the forks on the little GN, other than the fact that the bike has done 36k and sat abandoned in a shed for many years, and I don’t think the fork oil has ever been changed
