Sorry about the "Cup" guys but its in safe hands. Anyway my passion is Motorcycles with a variety of bikes in our shed. I have been involved and riding bikes now for 55 years, doing Touring / Adventure and road Racing over the last 13 years. I have been racing a 1989 Yamaha FZR 400/600 but my wife stoped racing her stock standard CBR250RR (MC22) two years ago, so rather than sell it she told me i could use it so hence joining the "250cc forum" to see if i can get some tips about these little fun bikes, just loving it. I am at the moment doing valve adjustments, fitting new NGK Iridium CR9 plugs, and doing carbs with an aftermarket pipe and stock air box. People say that standard jetting is ok, but any help here would be appreciated. Thanks Russ
No probs about the CUP rusty. We haven't raced for it for some time. Skippers and crew don't count. Nice MC22. Have you had it on a dyno? Have you used iridium plugs before?
Thanks Frankster, no thats cool even though we pinched an Ozzy for our Skipper . No have not put it on the Dyno, as my wife has been racing it for a few years, but seeing i have it now we are setting it up to be a little more competive, as in the Junior Class we are racing against KTM390's as well. Yes used Iridiums in my FZR but decided some for this bike as plugs are hard to access all the time. No have not put it on the Dyno yet, we want to keep the bike reliable for racing as you only get points for finishing, been there done that, valves have not been done for some time so checking that out, and maybe change a jet or two as its a little rich at the moment. Have read some good stuff on the forum so for which has been helpful.
