have just fitted an electronic ignition kit to dannis,s bike for the vjmc weekend.took 1 and half day to do working slow and i reckon could be done under a day.soldered all push fit connections.bought the kit from charlies place in the states.had no spark on lhs though coil was good so had to be points.the bike is now firing on both cylinders and is revving cleanly to the red line.fitting the electronic unit not hard but fitting voltage reg/rectifier was a pain. would have been easier if i had stripped the coverring off the harness but chose not to.cost of pick ups and reg was $522.ooexpensive yes but reliability was the issue. the top end rebuild was 1200 bucks with racing valve springs and valves. old bikes are not cheap.
Hi Risky.WOW the electronic part's where pretty pricey. Did the electronic unit smooth out the idle at all ?.Had a electronic unit fitted to one of my bikes many years ago and the difference it made was very impressive as in smoother running in general.

more self contained sealed unit made in usa and appears to be worth the money. starts easie, revs out cleanly and i hope no issues. today will tell as of to tamworth a day early so if it breaks down can fix. fingers crossed.anyway if if craps can always pinch the electronics off greys triumph.lol.
Should do more homework @risky ... This transistorised ignition uses the points as a trigger.. so no arcing or wearing and quickly reverts back to points in case of a failure...
