A little more progress today, the new muffler and H bar are on, I started on the brakes, the brake fluid was rusty mush so the calipers are off, the master cylinder has been drained of all excess fluid. I think I might pop down and buy some caliper paint and give them a coat of paint before reassembly.

I will pop the pistons out tomorrow and see how ordinary the seals and pistons are.

The new petcock arrived today, I ended up buying a chinese one for $19.50 delivered as the OEM ones from Honda are $175 new, I have used Chinese ones in the past and found the actual plastic lever to be useless, so I bought one to suit a VTR250 which has a shorter handle and should work okay, if it doesn't, I can always buy an OEM lever from Xcitebikes as they sell them without the actual petcock.

I decided the old girl needed some attention, she was sitting forlorn in the corner for months. Since I bought the white MC22 I haven't really had a need for it, so its either part it out or reassemble and sell her, I think the 2nd option is a better one as it hopefully keep another one on the road.

Tonight, I pulled the front wheel off and replaced the brake disks as the ones it arrived with were very rusty, I made sure they were locktited then refit the front wheel to the bike. As I was putting the axle through, she slipped off the stand onto my foot.... now that hurt. mental note to self, wear shoes when working in the garage.

I then installed the petcock and fitted the tank to the bike, I then put the rear panels on, fitted the nose cone and mirrors so she started to look like a complete bike again.

    Jobs to do :
I need to clean the front calipers, fit the new pads and bleed them
Install the new side stand switch
Fit new pads to the rear and bleed them
    find a few missing screws...

then she will go up on Gumtree as a cheapy project.

Damn. Can't blame a guy for trying lol. Good luck with the sale, it'd make an easy track convert as well.

Smeone offered me a big bag of money for the wheels (more than I paid for the bike) so I stipped it, Tim helped me fit the engine went into the tri colour I had, now some of the parts are going onto Phils bike or made their way onto my grey one.
