After coming back from a ride to Sydney, he noticed something wasn't quite right....

He went to the doctor on Monday, and doc admitted him to hospital....

Had a few tests, and he had to go into surgery, was dismissed from hosp today... He's a bit sore, but he'll be ok. Will need a few follow up tests..

Can't ride now, but prob ok in a few weeks....

Thanks everyone... a bit zonked out at the moment, full to the brim with painkillers post surgery... but glad to be out of hospital - poor sleep and crap food.

Sounds like his Doctor is pretty well switched on and got things arranged quickly. Just take it easy and keep the drugs up. No doubt just being at home and in your own bed will make you feel better. Peace and quiet.

Thanks everyone for the kind words, I feel back to normal now, and have caught up on some sorely needed, er, "theraputic" riding in the last few days ;)

For those that don't know, it turned out that I had a tumour in the downstairs area... I had an ultrasound and CT scan, which thankfully confirmed it hadn't spread anywhere. All I can say is thank God for that... I then had surgery to remove the offending article. They put a nerve block in my leg, so I couldn't walk until 48 hours after surgery

Anyway, I'm not out of this yet, frequent blood tests and CT/PET scans are in my immediate future. So, for the gents here, please see this as a reminder to check yourself once in a while... and if something isn't right, drop what you're doing and go straight to the emergency section of your nearest hospital... I waited 4 days to see the doc (they were booked out), who immediately told me to straight to emergency. If I had waited longer, I may not have not been so lucky. Problems down there are no joke.
