Well the postman hasn't delivered it yet, but I grabbed this starter motor from Zenmarket. I was actually looking for something else but it was cheap enough (shipping won't be I expect). I will recondition it & keep in the spares box. Also a complete harness with TCI.

Well, the box is... printed in Italy, at least. Italy does a bit manufacturing, some is cheap and nasty

Couple of nice surprises at the front door yesterday!

Assortment of genuine Honda bolts and screws to replace old poorer looking ones, missing and or incorrect bolts on my bike. Gotta have the correct bolts when you have OCD!
It’s so satisfying opening a box full off little individual bags with Honda labels on them. Must be how drug addicts feel!

Also two sets of Dunlop Sportmax Apha 14 stickies. Standard 1990 MC22 sizing at 110/70R17 front and 140/60R17 rear. In NZ, it is very hard to find 140/60 tyres and Dunlop offer pretty much the only option. To make matters worse, there is limited stock available in the country and these are apparently now a discontinued line so I panicked and bought two sets! Will keep the second in storage so later down the track, I won’t have to jump up to a 140/70 rear. If anyone has tyre storage tips, let me know please.

Looking forward to see what the postie brings in the coming weeks. Expecting some new OEM bar ends and also front and pillion seat cover replacements from our Japanese friends. Fingers crossed the fabric they use looks the same as OEM and I beat the fiancé to the door after work when it all arrives!

May have received a stern telling off last night! :lolsign:

Tyre storage - Bag them up in large sturdy garbage bags that will keep the light away from them and then store them in a cool dark place. I store mine under the house in the crawl space.

Well to most of us on this forum, that is a much better sickness than "I'm going to cafe it and fit a brown seat".

Thanks for that suggestion. I did read somewhere that having them airtight helps? Chances are it will be a fair few years before I need to fit the second set as bike will only really be ridden on weekends in summer months. I want to preserve them as much as possible but understand there will be a limit.

Temperature/humidity variation and UV are your tyres enemies when storing them.

Have you read the label on the Alpha 14s, yet? Don't use them at temperatures less than 5°C, don't even roll the bike about, don't leave the bike sitting on the tyres...

Hahaha, yep. I used to ride about in -10 on the early Pirellis with the same warning. Just need to get them up to temp before giving it a full throttle twist on the Fireblade

The positive side to spending so long away is three months worth of parts scrounging and packages to open - just like Christmas!

Still not set up in any way in the new House, well the house is mostly done but not the garage.
But, I did have some tyres, tubes and rim tapes arrive for the SL125. Kenda brand and they are a good compromise for on and off road.
    [IMG][IMG]

I also had a new (used) front guard arrive for the SRX which is an actual 3WP item.
I don’t have a pic of that yet.

Postman delivered my registration and plates for my MC19. The nice lady at the DMV said I should expect 3 months and it took 2 weeks. I'm happy no doubt, but expecting 3 weeks I got started on my restoration so the bike is in little pieces for the foreseeable future.
