new Benelli model unveiled at EICMA 2012 is the Uno C250, a compact, 250cc roadster powered by a dohc, liquid-cooled Single rated at 24.5 hp at 9000 rpm and 15.5 ft.-lb. of peak torque at 7000 rpm. In this case, the whole bike seems to be made in China.

Not sure if its coming down under

Benelli is now owned by Chinese group Qiangjiang

In response to above post, these pictures I found in an old book from the 1980's that I bought from the local Lions book sale.
First is 250 two stroke twin modelled very much on Yamaha RD250. 30.5Hp at 8,000rpm but in a good handling frame. Interestingly it is still premix.

This was Benelli's answer to the Japanese 4 cylinder bikes. It only made 26.5 Hp @ 10,500rpm with a top speed of 150Km/h. It is a neat little bike with the instruments set into the front of the tank.

Both were very expensive at the time (compared to the Jap bikes) and didn't sell well. Just to confuse the issue even more, they were also badged as Moto Guzzi's as well.
