    Yes and add the cost of having to be a club member each year as well ... starts to make it not so 'cheap'

    The more bikes you have the cheaper it gets...lol well relatively speaking of course. Only one cost for Club membership each year.
    Its ok for you Country folk... get all the cheap Greenslips and Insurance. Us poor City folk have to pay through the nose lol

    Yep, the Classic Italian Motorcycle Association costs $40 per year, I have 4 bikes on the scheme and am about to put my 1989 MX5 on it as well. This club allows you to do one car as well as unlimited bikes, even though its a motorcycle club...... Conversly, the MX5 Club costs $80 per year and they charge a $50 handling fee for doing historic rego on mx5s.. I feel my mx5 club membership may well lapse next year. They do, however provide very good, very cheap track days so maybe not.

    our local restores clubs are $30 a yr regardless of how many bikes and card but as said a lot of legal restrictions

    vjmc is $45 in first year and the club loses money on that, $40 in subsequent years. historic rego is $96 in first year and $50 of that is for the number plate. following years is $46 and safe operating certificate by club examiner is free.

    I saw this online and thought it might be of interest to some of the younger members on this forum. Back before photo ID Driver's Licences, your Australian Licence had a more detailed description of the driver, which included height, eye colour and skin complexion. I guess most of those items would/might be contested as a violation of a person's rights today. I note it didn't include SEX as an option. I'm pretty sure my first Licence did have that, but I may be mistaken. I believe this licence is from 1942, so that explains the pre-decimal currency (pounds, shillings and pennies). I guess of a few of us on here would remember having a licence a little like this one.

    Have you upset the internet gods again @GreyImport ? Your pics are not apprearing.

    I can remember "doctoring" my Dad's expired license to have a new date and my name and sort of birthday... Just fro proof of age to get into pubs... I would have never driven on the road underage or without a license.... :thumb_ups:

    I was going to mention the advantage of licences that lacked a Photo was the ability for them to be used by people that 'looked' like you but may not be the age stated on the licence. Popular back in the day was doing this for alcohol purchases, entry in restricted premises and for riding or driving on the roads well before one should be. I of course would never condone or do this myself.
