DDAF9AC2-875B-444B-8843-981A67EFF324.jpeg After encouraging someone to buy these spadas (to stop me:) I took the big leap and once again the shed is overflowing with ancient pieces of once avant- guard Japanese engineering. In much better condition than the photos would suggest. There goes the summer

    Looks good to me.
You are going to have to pass up on few so that there are some for others to enjoy.
They were only a single year production run!!!!
    Getting rarer by the minute.

No. I believe the actual production only ran for approximately 12 months over the 88/89 period. The later bikes are just left over production from that period. Much like happened with the MC22.

Ah well, that’s a distinct possibility. They did sell a lot in Japan where market resistance to the high purchase price was not an issue. Hence the fact that Aussie grey importers could source many hundreds for pennies and make a killing in Australia. I have seen compliance plates that range from 88 to 91 but as you say, it’s possible they are all old stock.

I think even some of the genuine Australian delivered ones were most likely given later dates so that they did not look like last years model. That is certainly the case with my 98 mc22. It has even had the frame number on the headstem changed. Yet it is a genuine Honda Australia vehicle.

I've seen a few spadas in Qld lately, a couple of tidy ones, too. Under a grand, at that.

Yes, just as I knowledgeably proclaimed that seemed to be a SPADA shortage atm. Ah well, can’t have too much of a good thing

082CBB2A-A082-4558-A9B7-D9BD3FF59A67.jpeg The last of my trio of new/old mighty Honda spadas arrived last night.. it could possibly also get a bit part in a catastrophic, end of the world hollywood blockbuster.
