JP parts dont list what they have ... u ask for a 'quote' and they let you know the price or if not available .... from memory Linkin got a few hard to find FZR bits from them http://www.jp-parts.com/quote/apply.php
Well I have ordered this one.. it looks in really good condition, still has the Cad plating on it. All up it was A$55 due to the crap exchange rate.. but no more expensive than the manky looking one I found before.. I did place an enquiry on them @GreyImport but I suspect they will come back with NLA, but it doesnt matter if they do now.. Thanks for the input everyone.. normally I can find this stuff easy.. I am suffering from brain fog lately.
Just had an email back from these guys advising that the part is not available.. so really quick response which is fantastic. I have added them to my favourites list
Went out this morning to see what paint I could get for the wheels.. I went to my local Paint supplies shop and while they didnt have the KBR range I spotted the Eastwood Diamond Clear... basically the same thing as the KBR I guess. It will cover polished bare metal as well as painted surfaces.. just what I need. http://www.ppcco.com.au/eastwood363.html I also tried to find a C-Spanner to add to my collection.. do you think I could find anyone that actually had one in stock?? So looks like I will resort to eBay now..
For those that already have a C-Spanner or 2.. which size is the most useable? I am leaning towards the 32-76mm
Hi Buddy The C spanner that is needed for the stock SRX head set and the rear shock is still available P/N 90890-01268.Not sure if it will fit the different rear shock castle nut that your going to use though.I'f you can measure the castle i'll measure the C spanner.
Too late.. I ordered a pair of 32-76mm cheapies on eBay.. $28 for both..delivered. that way I will have them for any other bikes etc as well. Thanks for the offer though
That's cheap @ $28.00 for both and delivered. Sold all of my tool's with my old bike , should have kept the spare set of C spanner's .
Managed to get out to the garage today and have a bit of a tidy up. Then I decided to start mocking up the front end, just to see how it is all going to look. Seems the only thing I will need to do is to move the bottom mounts on the headlight bracket but I knew that was going to be the case. I had a good look at my paint job on the front wheel and I am pretty happy with it The rear still needs to be masked and painted My FZR250 handle bars don’t work so I will need buy some aftermarket ones. And another pic of one of my rear-sets that has some initial polishing done. With part of the Gauge cluster in place Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
If anyone is wondering about the tape still on the front forks, I am yet to clear coat them. I will remove the tape later today so it looks better and then re-tape it when I am able to do the clear coat. I might need another can of the Eastwood Diamond Clear as I have the swingarm to do as well. I have also been tossing up using Black Crinkle finish paint on the cam cover! I originally thought red but it will be a completely different red to the rest of the bike and black will just be a simple mod that doesn’t stand out like a sore thumb. As always, comments and opinions welcomed Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
Ideally I would like to use the FZR bars but they dont mate up to the SRX400 top yoke. So I sat them on top just to see how it will look with bars of some sort on there.. I cant find a set of SRX400 / 600 late model bars (need to be 38mm) so I will most likely get aftermarket items. Pity as the capscrew sets them at the correct angle and ensures both are equal. I wonder how much the ones @Linkin put on the ZXR250... although the diameter of his forks will be different being USD. I have a few weeks to figure out which way I will go..surgery tomorrow for my knee replacement... YAY.. I think.
@Andych New cams look good. Keen to see how the engine runs when you get it all together. Sounds like it will make a chunk of power. Good luck with the new knee.
Just ordered a seal kit for the front brake calipers, I have no idea what the pistons are like so I may need to get them as well. Interesting there are no kits available in Australia, this kit is from the UK. I can’t find a rear kit though.. might need to buy OEM
FZR250R rear caliper kit https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rear-cal...h=item56b8a4fdc1:g:L3kAAOxy~iJQ-F1V:rk:3:pf:0 Or with piston's https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/YAMAHA-F...h=item5d7403e140:g:PZ8AAOSwaZJZhDST:rk:4:pf:0 I wonder why the some of the front kit's are to suit 1 piston, so you need to buy 4x 27mm kit's and 4x 30mm kit's for the front brake's ? 27mm seal kit's https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FZR-250-...e-Caliper-Piston-Seals-27mm-New/132786843200? 30mm seal kit's hash=item1eeab66e40:g:52sAAOxyaTxRXJt-:rk:28f:0 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FZR-250-...=item2146ab1652:g:52sAAOxyaTxRXJt-:rk:27:pf:0
