    Hello everyone I'm been trying to sell my Blue Kawasaki ZX-2R for quite some time and all though I've had enquires on it they have done nothing but waste my time. I'm selling for a $1,000 now so already losing money and I don't want ridiculously offers on it because I just won't reply. I main reason it hasn't sold is because fuel isn't getting to the carburettors but will run if you put fuel down them. I don't have the time to sort it out and I don't want to spend if I don't get a return on it. It's listed for sale on bikesales, gumtree, ebay and some logan big buy swap sell facebook pages.

    Hey Sean

    Welcome To the forum, I think it's me you are referring to with lower offers on your bike :) I only offered what I thought it was Worth as a parts bike.

    I think I have already offered before but if you want to get it it running , I'd suggest whipping the carbs off and cleaning them. I'm on holidays and will get back to Brisbane on Sunday night. I'm happy to help you get her running again and extend the offer for you to bring your bike to my place ( I have the right tools) next week with 4 new plugs, a can of threebond engine conditioner. Should only take a few hours , I'm in Birkdale .

    Chris

    :welcome: Sean, yeah have seen your bike advertised whilst on my search for another low klms spare motor, take Chris up on that generous offer, a running bike would sell much easier if thats your intentions.

    This may sound daft, but is the fuel tap vacuum operated?
    Otherwise clogged fuel filter inside the tank or inline?

    Fuel starvation seems it should be an easy one to troubleshoot

    The fuel tap and fuel filter was replaced but isn't pumping through to the carbs. If anyone is willing to come over and help for an hour with the issue I'll give you $50

    Something I may have read on this forum, but don't quote me on this, but I seem to recall there being a setting to fill (prime) the carbs on the zxr, after which you turn to run it to another setting to have the carb vacuum operate the fuel flow

    What about the fuel tank vent?

    I may have this confused with another bike...

    @ruckusman is correct

    The fuel tap runs off a vacuum system so if the vacuum lines armt set up properly it wont work as it should

    When starting the tap goes on prime as this lets the fuel run to the carbs without vacuum ..... then when its running tap should be on 'ON' or "reserve"

    The vacuum hose from the middle 2 cylinders join into 1 hose which goes onto the fuel tap, the 2 outside cylinders join into a single hose and runs back to the underside of the vacuum valve

    The larger hose runs to the airbox.
