Hey I have a 2003 CBR HONDA 250 RR. need some tech advice asap there's a fuel block or something. Can start it with Aerostart but then it dies. Fuel is not going through keeping it running. I have been told that this bike is not a standard CBR 250 RR road race bike. Does anyone know anything about a Signature Mclaren bike that came out been told that this is what this bike is ? Someone please shed some light on this. Is there anything that exists. Also been told it's a 1991 1992 bike, but compliance plates read 2003. Any help asap would be great ! Thankyou
2003 will be the year that the bike was imported and complianced in Australia. The actual manufacture date can be determined by checking the frame number, which is usually stamped into the steering head area. Often they have a line through them after being imported, and sometimes the australian issued VIN stamped onto the frame in addition to having it on the compliance plate.
Okay excellent thankyou for the heads up. Aby idea or has anyone heard of a mclaren signature series 250 RR CBR
Nope. Open one of the drain screws in the bottom of a carb bowl and see if you have fuel. If no fuel then look to blocked filter, fuel tap or pump (if it has one). How clean is the inside of the tank? You may need to take the tap out of the tank and give it a flush.
Hey Mate, welcome to the forum , Id suggest removing the carbs and cleaning the jets, while they are off, throw 4 new plugs in and that should fix your starting issues. As for a McLaren signature model, Honda didn't do anything like that, listed below are all the Honda CBR250 models, on your head stem will be the original frame number of your bike, check it against this list to see what you have.
