Gidday, This could turn into a large post if I start detailing everything I've tried to fix this issue so for now I'll ask a quick question to see if I might be looking at the problem from the wrong angle. Basically the bike is very hard to start and won't idle without stalling, I noticed that the right carb is barely producing any suction. Would this be an issue with the inlet valve? I just replaced a broken rocker on my Yamaha which was causing similar issues. Thanks in advance for any insight! Brad
Im with Murdo, Valve clearances can cause this, the other area to check is the air fuel mixture screws , its its too lean she wont fire. Carb's are a paint, particulaly if someone has been playing with them, the amount of times I have stripped poorly performiang carbs to find missing seals etc... Arrgghhhhhhhh almost as bad as people who cut and hack wiring harness's
Agree with all of the above, also one last area to check is the diaphrams, if your right hand carb is producing little or no suction that could be your problem. I would remove the air filter box and try pushing the slides up, they should produce a suction type sound, if this doesn't occur you may have found the problem. Many people spray cleaners onto there carbs that can basically destroy rubber seals/diaphrams which in turn affects the carbs adversely. Hope this helps, good luck and keep us posted.
