    That’s a bonus.
I would never go to the RMS centers unless I had to.
Online is the ONLY way to go.

So I've just ridden the ZXR for the first time since re-doing the tune and I simply can't describe how well it runs. It's like a brand new bike. It idles, the choke works, no problems... just perfect carburetion!

I'm itching to have it back on the dyno now, just to see what the difference in numbers, both power output and AFR, is.

What did you do to retune it? I've got tuning issues, too.... And leaky floats (needle sticks before seating).

Just reset all the pilot screws to 2.5 turns + 1/8 turn out and balanced the throttles. But, instead of balancing to #1 carb, I balanced to #4 where the throttle linkage is.

How do you do balancing? Sometimes I borrow a mates digital 4 signal gauge (makes life so much easier, and you can balance at different throttle positions, so it is balanced when you're just poking along).

Digital vacuum balance gauge at work, there are videos in the thread.

Throttle balance should be done at idle, then give it a big rev and let it settle before making any further adjustments. Then creep the throttle to check the balance. All we care about is that all butterflies rise and fall together.

There is also a temperature range it should be done in, so it's a good idea to have a fan running over the motor/radiator.

I've got the adjustable needles in the mail today from @sharky , I will dyno the bike as is and see how it is before fitting the adjustable ones.

I was just confused by your #1/#4 comment. Some use 2 vacuum lines and they can balance them wrong.

I normally balance 1&2 and 3&4 and then balance the 2 pairs with the centre adjuster.

Me too ... and that #2 is the 'base' carb

Depends on the bike... I would have thought that the master is the carb with the throttle plate/cables attatched

What does it say in the recently translated Service Manual? :)

I agree, it makes sense to do driven first and driving last that way you are not chasing the idle setting.

Yes it is. So far, the advice given to me to just use it as is has not resulted in any problems.

The C model service manual says adjust to #1 carb, but doesn't say which one that is.

And it seems to have worked, I have a complete lack of hesitation when creeping the throttle and nothing at 3,000rpm where it used to hang either going up in the revs or down.

Well, this adventure has ended. Sold the bike today. Not happy to see it go, but at least it will get some good use.

An emotional time. And now to buy a brand new bike! Seriously, give it some proper consideration; I've seen the time and money you've put into secondhand bikes, and you have the R6 when you upgrade your licence, but your back didn't like the zxr, and won't like the R6, either.

Off the top of my head, I don't think you'll get LAMS bike that's within bull's roar of the zxr; most are merely commuters. Maybe the FZ6R? Inline 4, but can't recall the frame/suspension. Or MT-07? Wait, triumph speed triple!

FZ6 are great but no longer available brand new. Great bikes but. Easy to derestrict if you get a LAMs one.
Give the Ninja 400 a go, more upright than a ZXR. Any number of naked bikes also. It's a buyer's market.
