Picked up a new project to build up as a race bike. Mc19. Was in pieces when i got it last week. Have rebuilt the calipers and checked valve clearances and have the engine back in the frame. Have some race glass being made from b-spoke designs at the moment. Water pump is pretty notchy so will need to replace that. Removed some un needed parts of the subframe. Hopefully have it running in the next couple of weeks
Have also got some rear sets from a someone on facespace. They look like a very nicely made rearset. Also looking for a good water pump if anyone has a spare
Welcome. I have used a couple of these pumps with no problems. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32877067781.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.27424c4dOq3Pq4
Thanks. Not a bad start. Only had it since tuesday. Should be a bit different to race than my ninja250
Yep. A fun little bike to ride on the track. In the right hands (not me) they go very well. Those rearsets look good. I only have standard ones and I scrape the gear lever on tight left-handers. I have lifted it up and wound the spring preload right up to try and combat the issue.
Yes ive heard the stock rearsets are a little limiting. Plus the new ones are adjustable to suit. The rear shock im sending to another racer who modifies them for racing. Improves the compression and rebound and extends the shock another 10mm. $170 Is money well spent for this
I have heard that. But if you have to pend any sort of money on Ninja springs, then you might as well buy some RaceTech ones.
A little progress. Have the loom basically ran. Waiting on the new race glass to arrive ti finally the placement of the electrics. Fitted the new Bridgestone rs10 front tyre. Rear tyre is due to be delivered next week. Making up a spacer to replace the speedo drive this weekend. While i have the lathe fired up ill also make some other little bits and pieces
