Hello. New member and new to forums. Been into cars and bikes but given up on cars, bikes are a lot easier, cheaper and you can fit more in a shed. Restored a CB250N a while back. Put it down 2 teeth on the front and its pretty fun to ride through the hills. A bit slow but l don't mind. Starting a restoration on a CBR250RR. l am building one and helping a friend build his. Have a VTR250 Interceptor for a project at a later date.

. Would you like to share a picture of the CB ?. Also been thinking of getting rid of my 1 tonner Ute and just keeping with my bike , as you've commented , a lot more fun.
Here is a shot of it when l got it. It ran ok but was pretty rough. Dents in the tank, ripped seat, broken tacho, missing fuel cap lock, master cylinder perished from the sun, broken indicators etc. I put new wheel bearings in, new coils and leads, different tacho, cut the rear mudguard, got another seat, new master cylinder, a CB400N front end with twin brakes, new brake lines, rebuilt the calipers, rebuilt the forks and painted it. Put in a LED headlight and new indicators. 2 teeth down on the front sprocket and it runs really nice. Everything works and its a fun bike through the hills. Does about 135 - 140 top speed now.

Thank's for the picture of your bike. Your description of your bike when first purchased sounded pretty sad , but the pictures at'least show it was nearly all there. It just needed a good buff ! I have a road test of the bike i'f your interested from back in the day's.
I have read a few of those test and saved a few. They generally seemed not very appealing to the testers, but I have had mine for years, been very reliable, comfortable for a big guy and still fun enough that even though I have other faster bikes, I still enjoy riding it. Quiet enough that I can wring it's neck without attracting unwanted attention through the hills.
I'll find the road test and have a read. I think back in those day's it was about big cubes / HP and of course speed. Have had my time / fun on bike as those. But riding a 250 still bring's a smile to my dial , as you've commented , they fly under the radar. Have to admit , my bike being so light it does make it more fun , so flickable. The k's i'll do , i'll never wear out sprocket's or chain's.
I agree re the fun element I have had lots of bikes of all sizes but for me riding solo a 250 is just right Light in weight not too fast as I am 69 years old this year I dont have the strength tp maul with 1 ltr + any more My natural travel speed is about 50 on a suitable road so the 250 fit the bill very nicely All the best Trev
It's just nice being out on a bike, doesn't have to be fast. At 69 you are still having fun so that's the main thing. I ride a little 1965 Honda S90 to work and I have a ball on it. I'm 6'3 and everyone says I'm too big for it but who cares. Take care Trev, Keep riding and having fun
