Well, here's shed that got away. Last year when I was looking for places near Phoenix, Arizona, this place popped up with garage that was larger than house!!! It had lift and 2nd-story loft for storage. Real estate listing didn't even show any photos of house, just this garage, so I didn't take look. They had open-house that weekend and sold it on the spot! Grrr... should've gone to look at it beforehand..
So... I finally got back to the garage setup on sunday... finished most of the wiring and the new hibay LED lights... made a big difference during the day and then tonight was the first chance I had to get up there at night to get some pics... Very happy with the results And here is a short video....
Or more Machinery, bigger lathe, Mill, anodizing plant, welding bay plus mezzanine storage and a rest area
That is a pretty good size shed @maelstrom You should have a race with @GreyImport to see who get theirs up first... hmm somehow that sounds wrong.... anyway
A bit of progress Site inspection done the other day Documents signed and deposit paid today Sadly lead time is 6/7 months but at least Ill be on the waiting list now
So how many bikes can you fit in a 6m x 6m shed leaving enough space to work on at least one? My best guess is about 13 comfortably. Make sure you have good lighting, makes life easier when you have old eyes like mine.
$20k and would of done you a timber pole shed kitset delivered.... only thing is we dont have those termites over here in NZ
I have 8 "complete" (I use that term loosely ) bikes .... 2 are bird shite collectors ... in other words "spares" bikes , so they wont make the cut I would prefer the other 6 to be setup so that any one can be worked on at any time without any ,or minimal, moving about. Good lighting is a given .... and it will have 101 power points , so I never have to use a power board or extension cord ever again in my remaining life It will also have wall and ceiling insulation and probably split system aircon. Power roller door also so I dont have to get off the bike when going out and back in
Try this approach. " said pergola is screw attached and only a temporary fixture that can be removed, temporary is not for the longevity of the build and not concerning this build." As for the floor engineer to review floor, you will have to sketch a cross section of what you built. Polythene 250mu, mesh SE62, rods HD12 or peri, showing distance from edges 75mm of rod in and 100mm slab min with mesh mid span. Try using the term with the slab sketch 'acceptable solutions' from the light house building code. Have a builder mate run their eyes over it. Finish with the sentence, this is a low importance level building that is not a livable dwelling and does not require said engineer due to plans submitted were suitable for consent. Fake it till you make it
Yes the pergola is mounted on stirrups so can be removed The flog from the council that has been snooping about without notifying me , hasnt looked too hard Its dimensions are exempt from approval anyway The site manager from the garage company has already been out before to discuss the "old slab" and we had already decided it will just be used as base material (with a new slab on top) and not as any structural support .... thats what piers are for Im dealing with ******* idiots
