There is a demo model down the road from my work at Lane Cove, I'm thinking about bringing my helmet to work tomorrow and going down there to give it a test ride. :D

Looks like Honda have released pricing,  $6290 plus on roads or $6790 with ABS plus on roads...

Pretty sharp pricing and should be interesting to see if Kawasaki change Ninja pricing to compete.

      Mugen Honda CBR250R

The fresh-from-the-oven 2011 Honda CBR250R has just gotten itself some Mugen treatment to look all the more alluring before it hits Indian shores sometime in March 2011.  Right now, Honda

Phil and I went for a ride down to Moss street today to see the new CBR in the flesh, not a bad looker, but I still have problems getting over the fact that a CBR250R is now a single and not a 4 cyl, in saying that, Im sure it will sell really well.

Re: New Honda CBR250R A friday the 13TH SPECIAL / TEST RIDE

To start with I would like to thank the good folk at Pro Honda at Kunda Park on the Sunshine Coast and particularly Nando Figueiredo/ Sales Manager for granting me a test ride of the new Honda CBR250R motorcycle.

For this test ride we took 2 bikes so as to compare thereafter. I rode the CBR250R and Nando rode a 2010 Kawasaki 250 Ninja, great idea.

First impression was how comfortable the seat was and the mirrors protruding out to offer excellent visibility. The dash layout is very good. The tacho takes center stage with the digital speedo just below. The riding position is more upright and extremely comfortable.

We headed towards Nambour before joining the Bruce Highway, and already I was feeling at home, this motorcycle just cruised without any effort on my part. The gears are well spaced and the change, very smooth. We turned up into the hills and this is when the bike started to truly shine. The power band is incredibly wide and I had no problems staying with the Ninja. This fuel injected single cylinder motorcycle was most impressive, so much so that I was reticent to swap with Nando for the journey back. Braking was very good and the bike is available with ABS for an additional $500.00, not sure wether I would bother.

So what conclusion do I come away with. Well it's a bike that will surprise many, it did me. It is well priced and it looks good. The engine is very responsive and smooth and it kinda gets you feeling special, I think Honda got it right again. Would I buy one, IN A FLASH.

Many thanks to Nando, if you are in the market for a bike, stop in and meet Nando and I am certain he will look after you. He is located at:

went and had a look at the new cbr yeaterday and must admit it is a nice looking machine. Still not sold on the higher clip ons or the single disc, but overall very nice. Apparently there is no plan from honda to do a RR.  :(

    Hey Slender

I finally saw one on the road in Rockhamption on Tuesday, Im not sure how they would do a RR one, maybe add twin disks , different tune and a more agressive racing styled body kit. For years Kwakka had the market sewn up for 250cc road bikes and even with LAMS , they are still popular.

I personally think that with the introduction of new 250cc Moto3 category next year, we might see some interesting developments with 250cc bikes, granted that they will be singles :) , the jap manufacturers  have racing in their blood, so I suspect it wont be long before someone builds a pocket rocket.  It all comes down to the business case and making it stack up.

I hope they do an RR. I think its wwhat the consumers want. I saw 2 of them on the road today, one at department of transport and one on the road. Really nice looking bit of gear. Nearly as nice as the FZR. :D
