I concur with Murdo, the internet has made sourcing parts much easier, if you know the part number, then google it !!!

Even with a Japan only bike its pretty easy to source parts ...some may be expensive but they are there.
Especially if you do your homework

A good example is the diaphragms for the FZR carbys .... use the Yamaha part number and it includes the slide and u have to sell your first born to buy a set..... buy the Suzuki equivalent and its just the rubber and available at the local dealer cheap as chips.

Ebay and putting the part # into google is always my first move also.

Using UK ebay and ebay.com is another good move ....not just Aussie ebay

UK is a good source for parts ..... I got a bundle of little bits and pieces (like special rubbers) from a UK spares guy I found via ebay ...... I think he had his own little supply chain with someone in Japan as he could get pretty much anything (for the FZR)

When the Aussie dollar exchange rate is around parity , buying overseas is even more inviting.

    Hey spaceman
Consider it reciprocal from our end, I have sourced many parts over the years and the UK never lets me down in terms of finding what I am looking for. However, sometimes certain posting in Britain will only ship within the UK, this precludes us at times. Many thanks for your offer and keep your postings coming.:thumb_ups:

Hi Mclaren can just about get any part you want for gsxr400, recently there's been a big market for 400s so parts have sprung up everywhere.
Hi phil I've got a mate whos a courier and has an account with airports so he can deliver anywhere in the world cheaper than most others.

I buy more from overseas than locally. It is not just the cheaper price. The service is often much better.
I do not have time to visit my 'local' bike shops and they do not post to me and so they do not get my custom.
