I have a semi-permanent hexagonal gazebo I got from Bunnings a few years ago that's currently supposed to be a paved outdoor seating area but covers the "bike-in-progress" I'm working on at any given time. I picked up some cheap clear vinyl cafe-style blinds for it from Kmart so it's reasonably weather proof (will post some pics if there's enough light when I get home) Between my housemate and I we have 3 cars, a trailer and 4-5 bikes (one's still only half a bike really ) with only a 2-car carport and garden shed for storage. The ZZR is currently still on the trailer in the yard under a tarp and the fairings and tank are in the garden shed! As I have a fair bit of space in my yard, a bike shed is probably the next thing on my list. I'm thinking I'll start with a rectangular 3 x 4 semi-permanent gazebo kit from Bunnings behind the front gate and get concrete laid for it later. The one I'm thinking of comes with curtains and mozzie/flyscreens too!
I was facing a severe lack of covered space for the motorcycles. so I decided to go ahead with the kit gazebo as a solution to this dilemma. I put a spotlight in the corner so I can work past dusk if the mood takes me and moved Nix and Eric under it to clear some space in other parts of my yard: If insects are attracted by the light, the netting should keep most of them out. Closing it altogether and turning off the light hides the bikes from a casual observer looking over the fence. It's not the most secure solution and I've put bricks under the legs on the downhill side to even it up but it butts up against my garden shed, my yard is enclosed and I live in a cul-de-sac so it'll do for now!
This has come from all the differnt ones popping up, so i thought, why not just make a single thread about it..........so as the title says "SHOW US YOUR SHED" EDIT :Sorry Moo we are miles ahead of u ! ...I slotted u in here ... GI here's mine......bit cramped but it does the job!
So on saturday I spent the day cursing as we were putting one of these up! Its 2.8m x 2.8m with double doors Boy was I glad I shipped in my tradie mates with impact drills!! It didnt get completed as we wanted to squeeze in a quick 9 holes of golf (I played terribly for those of you playing at home), standard tradies said tools down pack up LOL This is far as we got and it looks like i made the classic pool room mistake hahahaha (its a tad big for the space!)
The inside of the shed so far, still another bike, parts, tools and a workbench I think I may be a bit optimistic
na mate i'd say you'll be right, its all about how you use your space to work for you. under bench storage wall storage ect ect
