Hi, I am converting my swingarm to needle bearings from rubber bushings. There is no kit for this so I am adapting from another bike. The needle bearing ID requirement is no problen @ 20 mm, but the OD is another issue, as ID for the swingarm is 26.5 mm. Bearings are available in 26 mm and 27 mm. Which one does conventional wisdom recommend? A 26 mm / w tape to take up the 0.25mm play either side or 27 mm by modding the swingarm for a slight interference fit? Thanks, Ian B.
Can you get hold/borrow/beg/steal an adjustable reamer and take the .5 out of the swingarm. Rough way would be for a strip of emery paper wrapped around a bar and spun with a drill to 'hone' out the required metal. Good luck with which ever method you choose.
