    Hi all!

I'm very glad to have come across this very informative website with seemingly kind and helpful members all sharing the same 250cc passion.

My very first bike was a Yamaha YBR 125. Then came my Kawasaki ZZR 250 Ninja! I sold the YBR and sadly came off the Ninja.. and headbutted the car that turned infront of me. I wasn't so keen on race fairings, it's agressive engine (14k redline :), then, and didn't think it would be worth trying to get the bike repaired. In hindsight, I should have! As this is a machine!

In a rush to get riding again I purchased on terms a Megelli 250R. A very good looking bike with exceptional handling. However I doubted the build quality (hooter bracket snapping off, rear LED lights stopped working, indicators falling off etc..) and finding out that production of the Megelli was terminated had me decide to sell it ASAP. Again, I wasn't too keen on the sport fairings - looks good but makes for very hard work.

I have bought myself a Yamaha SR 250 :) lovely bullet-proof little bike.

Another recent acquisition is a Honda Bros NT 400. Good looking cafe style naked bike :)

3 bikes is too much for me so before too many people found out I am a nutter I managed to sell the Megelli. At a slight loss, but now I'm left with 2 reputably branded motorbikes to shape up into pristine condition :)

I live in Africa where resources can be a bit tricky. Nonetheless I am planning to start with the little SR 250 - take it apart, powder coat the frame, replace all nuts and bolts with shiny ones, tank respray etc!

Cheers all, will upload a pic of the 3 bikes shortly.

    Welcome to the forum!

I have a ZZ-R250 - absolutely love it despite coming off the day I got the rego inspection done. Sadly I have too many bikes at present so will probably sell her soon.

Thanks guys. Yes the ZZR was awesome.. most thought it was actually a 900 or so just by looks and sound! Trying to upload pic using my phone is proving difficult at the moment. Will get organised..

    Cheers!

    Hi all,

I posted ages ago on this thread with a photo of my bikes at the time..

Thought I'd share an update of my modest Yamaha SR250.

I've changed it's colour and is now mechanically sound. I added some fork boots and since this photo was taken I have replaced sprockets and chain. One less tooth on the back and one extra on the front. It cruises easily at 100km/h and will do 130km/h all out.. I've added an inline fuel filter to prevent the carb getting dirty.

I now also have an SR500! Yes I like the SR series.. also running sweet. It's a 1978. A very loud bike.

Still have my Honda Bros 400 - no longer pink but metallic grey and goes like an aeroplane.

Finally to my collection I have added a new Royal Enfield 500cc Classic. the desert storm model.

    Cheers for now,

    Olivier
