Anyone that's done their clutch ..... where did u get the plates? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/FIBRE-CL...orcycle_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3395b10102
Considering I'm looking at a clutch service soon I'm keen to hear from others on this too. A set of fibre friction plates for Scarlet seems to range from $20 + postage up to about $100. Is there any major difference between the types and if not, is it worth paying the increased price? Edit: Just realised this was a Yamaha thread. The question still applies though!
I have used the Barrett (US brand) in two of my bikes with excellent results. The springs make it a little heavier at the lever but not too much, and they don't seem to be sticking together after sitting for a while.
Sadly I have to pull out the gears as well as 3rd has a chipped or broken tooth .... but I have the gears from the spare motor Who did u source the Barnetts from @Murdo? https://shops.ecorner.com/epages/ec...ops/mr/Products/Clutch_Plate_Set_Yamaha_CP4X6 http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=261597945630 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/like/370...e&hlpv=2&ops=true&viphx=1&hlpht=true&lpid=107 These could be a goer as I have to get a bundle of sprockets from them anyway ..... http://www.slipstreamperformance.co...250-1989-1993-Ferodo-clutch-friction-pla.aspx I presume I should replace the springs as a matter of course? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Yamaha-F...pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts_13&hash=item20bec7af80
For clutch springs GI, I would get some. I think slipstream does ferodo ones for around $20. Worth having even if not needed, then when you get some clutch slip you can throw the new springs in to extend the life a little bit.
im determined to keep this fzr250, clutch bit slippy full revs in 3rd... prob the fat bast@# riding it.. (me 106kg). EBC plates n springs on ebay. go with heavy springs? ferrodos around as well or go OEM? what you think guys.
At the time I did mine, I put in an EBC SRK series kit with kevlar plates and heavy duty springs. I think it was SRK 051 or 047 I can't recall. I bought it from wemoto but they are out of stock there at the moment. https://www.wemoto.com.au/bike/yamaha/fzr/250/1994/24958/clutch-kit-complete-ebc-srk-series
I have a Barnett clutch pack fitted in my bike ( Kevlar friction plates / steel plates / compression spring's ). My O.E friction plates where falling apart though , so needed to fit a new kit anyway , but was very impressed by the feel of clutch lever with the new Barnett clutch pack. These are the agent's for Barnett gear , just in case you'd want to inquire , good people to deal with. https://www.serco.com.au/contact
Thanks guys. The only EBC kit seems to only be available is the SRK034. Says 1987 FZR250. does the 2kr have the same clutch as the 3ln?
This is what I put in my 3LN1 A few posts about it here .... https://www.2fiftycc.com/index.php?threads/my-fizzer.872/page-37
