Hey guys new to the site just got my megelli 2011 model off a family friend. I have managed to fix a few problems it had but now am trying to find new steering bearings. I have taken the old ones out and have the bearing number but am having no luck finding replacements. Does anyone know where I can get them from or if there is another set I can use. This is the last thing before I can get the bike on the road. I'm from sydney but I can always get them posted. Thanks guys
Where have u tried to get them? Bearings are made by bearing manufacturers not by the bike companys u should be able to just take them to a decent bearing shop and get them matched
Yea I don't have the inner race so they can't match it with just the casing honestly called every bearing shop in Sydney
Try a wreckers, this guy is parting one http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/hermit-park/motorcycles/megelli-gt-250-wrecking-/1062407815
Why do they need replacing? ..... I know these bikes had a few problems...is this one of them? Being only a few years old , maybe they just need cleaning up,re greasing , and the headstock tightened correctly.
Bearings are made to standard sizes, so if you can measure the inside and outside diameters, then the depth a bearing shop should be able to match the sizes from their catolouges.
Yep measure internals and externals and any bearing shop will can match and generally cheapest price aswell
Appreciate it guys sorry to sound like a newbie I no use have probably heard the questions before but I do appreciate the help
Not a drama got learn things some how bud tip buy yourself a set of vernieers they not expensive and help measure critical dimensions like bearings
Just purchased another megelli 250r written off just so I can pull the steering apart for the bearings so I will put the rest up for sale
