Hi guys & gals, been a while since I've been on here. Hard to keep up with multiple forums. I've been fixing up my 250 recently & figured I'd leave a link to the thread here for anyone interested

@Kodie01 copy and pasted from OZCBR250.com for you.

Ok guys I've been planning on it for a while & finally got the motivation to get into it. I'm not doing a full on rebuild project, more of a learning curve of maintenance & tidying up the old girl. These pics are old but good reference for my starting point.

It all started with my LH fork seal leaking so I sourced the goods for that from xcite. After taking apart all the necessary bits & pieces, the forks were out & disassembled. At this point my list started to grow...

I was planning on getting a new fairing kit @ Xmas so I figured this was a good enough time as any to make a start on that. I contacted xcite & after a bit of back & forth decided against keeping the camel scheme.
I opted for the west scheme which I have always loved the look of.

Changing schemes means the tank will be turning black & rims will need a new colour too so goodbye yellow (Sorry K916)

Obviously I had to work out which way I wanted to go with it but in the meantime I got to work removing wheel bearings, steering bearings, clipons & generally just tidying up what I could as I went.

After I had everything off, I took the wheels to the tyre shop & got the tread taken off & valves cut off. Now it's powder coating time [IMG]

Powder coating list: Rims, fork lowers, top & bottom triple, cluster bracket, windscreen brace, stem nut clock mount, clip ons & a mates windscreen brace while I'm @ it.

Drained the tank, removed fuel tap, tore off the old tank grip & tank rubbers & out with the fuel cap.

This is as far as I've got so far but will be updating more as it happens.

Current list of parts bought & some to pay for:

•New fairing kit (comes with new mirrors, honda wings for the tank, tinted windscreen, rim tape, heat shielding & fairing bolts)
    •90 degree Kaneg valves
    •New grips
    •New tank rubbers all round
    •Steering bearings & seals
    •All wheel bearings & seals
    •Fork oil & seals
    •Showa stickers for forks

•Powder coating & tank painting still to pay for

*Also front braided lines going on & possible front & rear caliper rebuild maybe as wel

Yeah I'm heaps happy with the outcome. $350 well spent. Tyres & valves fitted for free was a bonus too

Just picked up my freshly painted tank [IMG]

As she stands currently. Almost ready to start putting her back together.

Just spent a good few hours scuffing up the headers, getting ready for painting. Not black & rusted orange anymore [IMG]
