Obviously that bike of yours has seen little or nil TLC during it's life. I salute you for your willingness to tackle such a task.:thumb_ups:
I think when completed, you will derive a huge sense of achievement, look forward to more updates. As we say here: head down, bum up !!

It's certainly a labour of love, it's what I do, I was doing the same this time last year, a Chinese 125. So i thought I'd try something a little more taxing this year.....I'm not sure how far to go tbh, treally take my time and mint it, or get it looking tidy....? And use it. I'm really in two minds about keeping it, or sell it on afterwards. I just don't know. I suppose if I have to spend a small fortune on it, I will probably keep it, as you never get back what you put in.

Wow that rear shock looks well knackered! What's the plan there? I'm pretty sure an RGV shock is a straight bolt in. I have both a GJ73a and VJ21 shock I can measure for you if you like?

I use this stuff.............Brilliant De-Greaser, Bio-Degradable, and although its a fine paste, it doesn't scratch, unless you put it on Perspex, but why would you? :D. Not sure if you guys have it there, it used to be on the shopping channels, you know the ones....It's only $19.99.....BUT WAIT! if you buy now....we will DOUBLE your order! lol.......one of those kinda channels. Nowadays though, I get it from my local Poundland.....and guess what? its only £1 per pot.

:):):):):) Grey, you aussies have a propper sense of humor :)..there's nowt wrong with our 'ajax' or 'astonish' lol!!!! advice on some exhaust smoke on a 76a gsxr 400..its there..new rings, compression good, starts 1st time hot/cold, uses no coolant, no oil and no mixing of the two..possible gummed up exhaust after a few years standing..thinking go out for a blast and see if it clears or stop now and heed the warning? carbs seem ok but cant be fueling right as it'll start without choke even after this cold weather we've had over here..you reckon pull and/or rebuild the carbs first to sort the fueling or chance my luck..smoke (masses of it disperses rather than lingers) is pretty much white..no coolant smell..cant fathom it but any help greatly appreciated boss, cheers si
