Thanks murdo. Do you think I'm being a bit cheeky with the asking price?

    1. I have no idea of what its worth

Good add, precise and honest with a giant feast of information. We aren't in the UK and therefore it's difficult to ascertain it's worth, good luck with the sale.

I have no idea Abe, but you can always come down if you get no bites. You must cover your costs and make an allowance for your time too.

I secretly don't want it to sell, after having ridden it 30 or so miles, I have never had such fun on two wheels. Its Brilliant.

Not selling now, I have cured the dodgy carb issue, I have put the original jets and needles back in it from the original carbs, I changed the air cleaner for a new piece of foam, and the bike goes like a rocket!.....it revs freely all the was to the top. I have taxed & MOT'd it and insured myself. I went for a good ride out yesterday, and what top fun, Ive never had so much fun on two wheels, its staying in my paddock.

Thanks people for reading/looking @ my renovation, I have been out today, a good 200 mile run was in order, and the bike did me proud, never missed a beat, happy days :) what a bike! it has impeccable road manners, hugs the corners, its so light and flickable, ive had a great day, shame about the razor blade seat lol....still, I can't have everything. I give it 99% (-1 for the seat lol)

oh, and she kept up with the 600's that were along for the ride.....showed a couple up at times lol......

A quick update.....i'm not selling, i'm Riding :) The Red Rooster is my daily ride, I love it, its nimble, quick enough when I want it to be, its reliable, its retro looking, its comfortable and its mine. I am enjoying riding it everywhere, I love the way you can flick it into corners with total confidence, it sticks to the road like no other bike ive ridden before.

I have been to four 'Bike Meets' recently, and the bike demands attention, many people immediately come up and ask "what is it?" and are very interested, some mutter "i saw one many years ago" others say "that's smashing....I would love a go on that!" I just smile politely, and leave them to look over it.

The last bike meet I went to (Thursday) I parked up next to a fairly modern Suzuki GSXR1300R,... the 'Pilot' was amazed at the little Rocket. we chatted for ages.

It's good to get out and use the bikes for what they were designed for. There is no way I could put this on display and just keep dusting it every now-and-then.....

The best thing about it is that it doesn't go too fast...you would have a hard time getting into trouble with it, which is exactly what I like. I have ridden much more powerful bikes (with upmost respect) but this bike Feels like you are in a race entering every corner, whilst only doing 40-45mph lol....I literally smile all the while im riding, its so much fun.

Great to hear you are having such fun on the bike after all that work. It's winter time here is Aus, but you have inspired me to get this one fixed and on the road for next summer. For all the same reasons, I want a bike I can ride hard out in the twisties without breaking the speed limit by heaps! Luckily I don't have even half the amount of work to do, all it needs is a top end rebuild and some re-painting where it had a low speed fall.

And Boyd, doing the miles will keep you fresh. Jumping on a bike once every two months to go racing is not the best idea.
