Already done risky, did you you end up having a look for an early 2kr swingarm for me mate. the one that the linkages go thru the swingarm and not thru the round bar underneath. Cheers mate

If anyone has an early 2kr swingarm, the one that the linkages go thru the swingarm and not thru the round bar underneath, can you let me know and what you want for it, cheers

And thanks to you all for the support. This is by far the best bike site out there. Cheers everyone

If there was a set of rebuilt carbs taken then the only thing they could do with them is try to sell them

Keep an eye on ebay and gumtree

I sure will mate, they only got them cause I had parts in a large toolbox, and other tool boxes and tools went so they were just after the tools I suspect, but your right, good chance some of the stuff will come on gumtree or ebay, I'll definitely be keepng me eyes open, cheers mate

A couple of photos, I finally worked out how to resize them. The forks bottoms have new progressive springs using parts from the spare set, the next one is the front disc, then a couple of painted parts, then the donor bike, then the matt black frame ready to start putting bits on. Still looking for a swing arm as the one off the frame was too rusted and had cracked as well. More soon fella's

Hey fella's, I have my spare set of carbs off donor bike, but they are in pretty rough shape, is it much of a job pulling down and cleaning them right up. And should I just put them back together with same parts or is there a reasonable kit to freshen them up. I haven't done it before on a bank of four carbs only the old xr400. And is it worth while getting new inlet/outlet boots. What sort of price for shop to do it and does any one know someone who'll Doo a good job. Thanks again, mick

Dont even entertain the thought of having someone do it ..... it will cost u way more than they would ever be worth ... most modern mechanics wouldnt know a carby if it bit them on the arse let alone 4 at once

Your are better off doing it yourself for the experience .... its not hard just fiddly
Get a LiteTek kit , a schematic and even a set of JIS screwdrivers

Look at my current ZXR thread as Ive started on the carbs .... or if u have 2 months spare time , look thru my Fizzer thread.

Things like carby boots are pretty much impossible to source ... Id guess 2KR would be the same

The service kit will basically mean u have to split the bank apart , and will involve a bit more precise work with the butterflys and throttle shafts
A good clean and the 'complete' kit will certainly be a great improvement so I guess its up to you to decide if u want to tackle anything more.

You cant get the JIS drivers at your local store .... even specialty tool places have no clue what they are .... not here in my town anyway.

There are Vessel and Koken brands .... ebay is maybe your best source

Heres some info on the JIS driver

This is the set I have

Thanks mate, as for the schematic, I take it its in the resources section in the manuals I down loaded. By the way I've been in touch with a company who are going to have a look at the manual give me a quote to translate it, hope it's not too dear. If I can get it done I get in touch so we can get it into the resources section making life a lot easier. Cheers mate

As Risky said, their fork seals are not always a great fit either.

Almost finished painting frame, got hold of a very sad looking swing arm and had it blasted and under coated, bought new swing arm bearing, pricey little buggers too. So I'm just about ready to start putting the font end together including rebuilt shocks with new progressive springs, swing arm and shock, so finally things are starting to progress. Will post some pics soon. Cheers guys
