    Howdy all.
I haven't posted for a while, but still been lurking around.
Anyway, I was given a '90 RGV250 on the weekend. I'm just in the process of cleaning and inspecting it. So far so good, aside from 25 years worth of crud around the bike, it seems to be almost all there. Will just need some lights, perhaps a thermostat housing, brake pads and chain/sprocket etc and it might be a go-er.

    Fingers crossed.

I've got a busy little workshop now....

I think they changed to the banana arm and USD forks in 1990 Scotchy.

Did I also mention it has brand new Metal Gear front discs and new fork seals. :D

    IT LIVES!! :dance2:
It took far less work than I anticipated.
Gave the carbs a good clean up, inspected the PV's, bled the oil pump, added fuel and ring-a-ding ding, it fired right up. The only problem was that it was spraying water like a hose from the top muffler!! So I lifted the front head and replaced the gasket and all good. Gotta love an easy fix. ;)

As for the running gear, I rebuilt the front calipers (yuk) and MC, cleaned out the brake lines, and they bled up no worries. I also noticed that the front brake calipers looked very similar to blue spot R1 calipers and the rear caliper looked very similar to the ZXR250 front calipers. So I just happened to have a set of R1 calipers with pads and some spare ZXR pads, and waddya know the R1 pads fit the RGV front and the ZXR pads fit the rear!

So just a rear disc, lights and bodywork left to do.
