Hi, i was wondering if all the exhausts for the yamaha 250 are the same, as in the ones with exup. Cause my model is the 89' 2kr model with exup and the exhaust is a cylinder thats been flattened a little, and doesnt look so good, and the newer models have a cylinder exhaust, i was wondering if the exhausts are inter-changeable, because mine looks crap lol, kinda scratched too

    thanks

Not all of the exhausts are the same on the FZR and they do tend to vary from year to year. They have different mounting systems so they are not interchangeable. Instead of replacing the exhausts why dont you try having them rebraided and straigtened? If you want you can have them ceramic coated as well (for a price). I did that to mine and they work, look and sound great! Just be aware that because that your bike is 15 years old, exhausts from wreckers wont necessarily be in great shape either.

    Cheers

i have an aftermarket carbon fibre exhaust and it goes awesome. one of the best grunt you'll hear in a 250 (as i've been commented on by bigger bikes) <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->

get yourself a decent exhaust if you wanna shine up your bike and got spare bling lying around. deffinately worth it.

I heard its not a good idea to change the exhaust on an EXUP model, as its been highly tuned to suit it.

was told by the seller that the exup got taken out when the aftermarket exhaust was installed. he also mentioned that the engine and carbies were tuned professionally to suit the exhaust.

I wouldnt change out the exhaust you already have unless you want to spend $$$$. Try having yours recoated and rebraided and having a new can installled.

to remove the baffle search google for 'baffelectomy'. Will make your bike louder, but will reduce peak power output unless you get it properly retuned.
